This theme draws on a few different influences. The main one is probably the OS9 Dimples theme from powermac.co.uk (can't find the author's name, I found this theme in a sit file full of many different themes from all over), but it's actually pretty different from that. The basic idea is that the title-bar texture is either embossed (Boss) or inset (Punktate) points.
That all being said, I wouldn't be surprised if there was another theme that was nearly identical to this at some point in the X11 past; there's nothing revolutionary here.
Originally I was going to try to do this as an Aurorae theme but I couldn't figure out how to get aurorae to tile the center pixmap (yes, I did try "hint-tile-center"). However, I still thought it could maybe work under Smaragd, at least in some respect. The Smaragd version does things a little different to work around Smaragd bugs, specifically:
* The corners are no longer as rounded because that looks awful in full screen due to a bug
* there is no separate title pixmaps, because Smaragd doesn't support that (even thoug I have heard it did under KDE4)
* The texture highlights are less pronounced as the lack of support for text outlines and title pixmaps would otherwise inhibit readability. Seems like this was not really a problem with the Platinum colors though, so those are unchanged
* I haven't made a boss version because I think the embossed texture without the title pixmap would lead to cognitive dissonance. I might still do this at some point, though.
* Smaragd versions don't include "icon" in the default title-bar layout. Smaragd can't display that. It doesn't actually cause problems to have it, though.
### Installation
Copy directory from the theme of your choice into ~/.emerald/themes, or download the `.emerald` file from the [OpenDesktop.org page](https://www.opendesktop.org/p/1745753) and import it into `emerald-theme-manager`.
I have included all possible buttons in the default title-bar layout so you might want to edit that in `emerald-theme-manager`. To do this go to _Edit Themes_ → _Titlebar_. In the bottom-right region there is a line-edit next to text that says _Title-bar Object Layout_, with a key below it.
